We are Maxi and Cathi, two friends behind Belted Collective.
We first met by chance in Hong Kong in 2024. A year later, we ran into each other again — this time in Maastricht, where we'd both started our studies. This time, we really got to know each other, and alongside our friendship, the idea for Belted Collective slowly emerged.
We started small: with handmade chokers made from fabrics we found at our local weekly market. Each choker is one of a kind, handcrafted by the two of us. Nothing fancy — just what we truly enjoyed wearing ourselves.
In January 2025, we flew to Hong Kong together to visit friends, experience the city again, and work on a new project. There, we found Meiling — a tailor who works exclusively on a made-to-measure basis. Together with her, we designed the "Mandarin Cord Jacket."
At Belted, we only make what we'd wear ourselves — pieces we're proud to pass on.
